Just thought those of you who are interested in social / political change might be interested in some resources.
I started learning about how to make activism more effective after seeing a few committed people burn out from doing too much work, without having time to sit back an analyse how to make better use of the time they spent "doing" activism.
Anyway here's a couple of links - feel free to add to the list if you have other resources!
The Change Agency (http://www.thechangeagency.org/)
This is a collective of Australian activists, who do activist education etc. Their website has a monthly e-newsletter which is worth subscribing to.
campaignstrategy.org (http://www.campaignstrategy.org/)
This site is from a British guy, Chris Rose, who also wrote a really useful book "How To Win Campaigns: 100 Steps to Success". He used to work for friends of the Earth and Greenpeace.
Although some of the main players in both websites above come from an enviro campaigning background, the principles that they talk about should apply to all types of campaigning including womens / educational type issues.
