i've just discovered worm wee. but i've no idea where to start with making it.
is it just a compost heap in some kind of overly large bucket with a container underneath/around it to collect all the worm wee?
any one 'make' it themselves? [or at least help the worms out a bit!!]
tell me more!!!

Do you have a worm farm? Most of them have a tap at the bottom for draining out the fluid. If you make one yourself it will need drainage holes and something to catch the liquid.

My very first teeny worm farm was in a 20cm plant pot with about 40 worms from a bait seller and a plant pot saucer underneath to catch the 'wee'. Those worms have since bred up and taken over a couple of compost heaps around Tasmania...
Yes, it's pretty much compost. I always put a layer of shredded newspaper at the bottom but I'm not sure why. I think the rule of thumb for feeding them is 1kg of kitchen scraps per 1kg (1000) worms per week.

ohhh this is sounding even more easy to do!! i guess i can start small and make my way up to a bigger worm house.
so if you put holes in the container the worms are in the liquid just eventually starts coming out and then that's what you collect, yeah?

I had one at my old house but it lives at Mama Kaz's now. You can make them from styrofome boxes pretty simply.
You can also use the worm castings (poo) diluted in water for a liquid fertiliser.

That's pretty much it.. I sometimes add it to seedling-raising mixture.

haha I think ceres was saying you can use the poo as well as the wee. Not that you can use the poo for fertiliser among other things lol

It's not literally wee, if that's what you mean. You have to keep it moist, like any compost, then when you want some fertiliser, you pour some water in and let it drain out.
