I have mentioned this book on Joyous Birth before, but thought it was definately woth discussing here as so much of it is applicable to home education. Has anyone read it?
The books dives into the roots of violence and control that are embedded in our most important structures, school and family. With the best of intentions, the author says, we violate our children and then are puzzled when they respond by vioating others, or themselves.
I scored this book at my local library book sale for 50 c, what a great score! I am finding it a challenging and thought-provoking read. For those who can't get their hands on a copy, I might include post some powerful quotes from the book as I come across them so you can all have a ponder.
