I'd like to try dehydrating some stuff, eg julienne zuchini to make pasta, but we don't have a dehydrator. I was just wondering, for those of you who have one, do you use it often? What sort of foods to you use it for?

:runcry please no more whitegoods

I thought it might be nice for fruit and stuff, but it's really not something I'd use very often, so I never bought one. But you might get a cheap one on ebay.

My parents gave me one and I used it most last year (of the several years I've had it) because I actually harvested our peach tree and the neighbour's nashi pear and then had to think of something to do with all the fruit! I wouldn't have bought one myself, but it's useful if you get into an expectation of using it, I think.

I'd love to get one too.

We've got one. We love it. We use it at least 5 times a week, mostly for apples, pears, kiwi fruit, tomatoes and banana. They need to be treated/used as lollies/sweets though because the sugar becomes so concentrated

we have one too - I find it gets hammered in the summer months as we will buy boxes of fruit. I also like making linseed crackers in mine - they always go down well with everyone.
