I think this is a great idea! Although it's in America, just thought I'd share here because maybe in time we can organise something similar in Aus! Dayna Martin, the organiser, has some great youtube videos on unschooling, and has her own website also: http://www.unschoolingamerica.com/

So, if we were to organise one here, what would you like to see there? Any ideas for a venue? I doubt we have enough Aussie-wide unschoolers just yet to make it a real hub of activity, but we could always start small and build up! Annual conferences? The first could even be something as simple as a camping weekend! And like the Homebirth Conference, we could take turns in each state, year by year.

Oh wow, that sounds amazing! I'd love to see something similar here in Aus, we could start planning one for a year's time? Best part about it is that we can organise it any time of the year, not just school holidays so we could probably book places cheaper :D

Definately! I would rather it something on land so there is a little more freedom for families to come and go, and more space. I think one year is ample time for planning! Well, one spot to recommend is a camping area in the Great Lakes area, where I've just been for the weekend. Around Seal Rocks. That's my contribution from NSW! It's the perfect mix of bush and ocean, plenty of facilities, family friendly and just beautiful.

Cool, yeah I was thinking NSW-ish as it's most easily accessible to most states. I don't know where the Great Lakes area is, but I'm happy to go with recommendations from NSWers. Which season? I don't want too hot or too cold so my vote would be for Autumn or Spring. Should we start a new thread to throw around ideas for this?

Yep, probably a good idea :)
I'll go start one now!
