OK bit of a silly question I know... but just following on from the discussion about routines, I'm just curious to hear how you all spend a typical day with your natural learning families.
A day here usually includes a trip to the playground or park or library, we always spend some time reading together, usually do some drawing or writing together and if the weather's good spend some time outside jumping on the trampoline or riding the bike or scooter. Other than that we pursue our own interests! My DS gets up about 6.30 and is usually in bed asleep by 7.30, so factor in 3 meals and housework and that's the day done and dusted!

Riley is 13mths so it's still pretty low-key. In-between naps and booba, he crawls off and explores on his own (no where is really off-limits as I keep an ear out if he's out of sight), plus we'll read books, play with toys, play games like peek-a-boo or chasies (me crawling after him saying "rahhhh!" :lol), he'll watch me as i do housework, etc. We also go to JB meets, etc., which we both enjoy :)

Today I was on the computer all day and the kids were fending for themselves in the front yard. The big one with plastic dinosaurs, and the little one with about 50 toy cars :lol

normally we go out somewhere though.

We also play with the doggies and sometimes we'll go and sit out on the grass. We've been pretty housebound lately for various reasons, I'm itching to go out somewhere tomorrow!

We go out a few times a week usually to meet heket or to JB gatherings on a Friday. During the day the kids play, read, draw, watch something on tv like Playschool, maybe go in the backyard and play or do stuff in the garden, we do houseworky stuff together. At night they do the same but often before bed they ask me to read stories to them in the bed I share with Isobel, then Conor goes off to bed with his dad. They both really like Poisson Rouge website so sometimes we do a bit of that. They like reading books with alphabet and number stuff as well as other books. We have no routine, no set learning time since I reckon they're learning all the time anyway. Some weeks Conor is mad for certain things so he pursues that and I help him out with it.

They've been playing together with trains for about 2 hours now. :lol

Our daily routine is fluid and changing, but it's basically breakkie all together, DP goes off to work, DS enjoys a pre-recorded episode of Playschool whilst I do my forum catch ups, and DD has a nappy-free play on the rug beside me, or cuddles with me, depending on her mood!

Then we usually hang some clothes out together, do the dishes etc, and decide what we'd like to do for the day. If it's grey weather we usually have a home day, because I don't drive. So we'll read books, I'll get out DS's puzzles for him and/or musical instruments, we'll watch some more dvds/shows and he has a couple of kids computer games he enjoys. I'll do housework or work online.

If its nice weather, we usually go out. We might walk into town and do some opshopping/grocery shopping, visit friends, go to the library for story & music time or if it's really warm go to the pool around the corner. DS's favourite thing to do is go to the tart shop/bakery and chose a treat so we''ll do that occasionally too.

Friday is playgroup which rotates between the houses of all the Mums.
