Anyone got any? I've had a quick look on google and I like the idea of making a Green Man mask (stick leaves all over a paper plate with eyes cut out) but nothing else really floats my boat as it requires buying heaps of stuff! We don't have many flowers in our garden atm either. The rain and humidity seems to have driven flowers away.
So for a 4.4 year old, what can we do?

We made lots of suns yesterday. Lots of fun!

I was going to make flowers out of patty pans (just cos we've got loads of patty pans, LOL) for our summer wreath/summer tree. And butterflies of some description, maybe painted paper ones with paddle pop stick bodies.

We just cut out circles of paper and decorated them with crayons and glitter and fabric.

Ooh sounds fun... I was thinking a grand affair with paper plates but you think I have paper plates here?

instead of a xmas tree make sand castles. paper mase(?) a castle with cardboard boxes, toilet roll inners, paper and masking tape. Paper mase over it. Paint in it glue and cover with sand. Can also stick leaves and shells on it.

Did butterflies today... cut small butterfly shapes out of coloured cardboard, did some texta colouring on them, glued a coloured matchstick down the middle, and hung on the tree with wire :)

Pinched from the Summer article on the Spiral Garden site (something I wrote myself, so it isn't truly 'pinched'):
"corn dolls, kites, wind chimes, pet rocks or shells, paper fans, tie dye, flower pressing and sun catchers"
Happy to share instructions if you need them. There's also tons of craft instructions online, if you type in the ideas above.
So far this summer we've done shells and fans. Lately, the craft seems to be Christmas-themed but the big kids have been doing those with the little kids 'cos I am not so keen on Christmas crafts. :)

Lauren, Anya & I just made this.
http://www.activityvillage.co.uk/chinese_fan_craft.htm
Used a piece of wrapping paper, had to stick an additional bit on the end as it was only 70cm and that wasn't long enough for it to meet in the middle. i assume if it was less than 20cm high it would be smaller.
Was quick and easy and Lauren loves it, won't last long though :lol Have photos I will upload later.
We are now going to make some flowers from patty pans & pop sticks and set up our seasonal table :D
Oooh could do sand pictures! sand=beach=summer!

You can see Anya's artwork on the left, then mine, then Laurens. Anya's was actually a tack on bit hehe

K and I just did some handprint solstice suns in red and yellow fingerpaint :)
ETA: and now she's spatter painting some butterfly outlines. I don't recall that she's ever done spatter painting before, but she's having heaps of fun and keeps asking me to cut out more butterflies :lol

I found a couple of nice summer themed colouring pages that could be good for solstice.

This year K's painted some paper plates red and yellow to make a chain of suns.
I received a few issues of this magazine - it's a pagan/home school/family magazine. DO NOT access their online magazine site because it's filled with spam from truly horrible people or was last time I checked. Anyway, I'm posting this because they've had some awesome seasonal crafts: http://www.blessedbee.com/
Circle Round (http://www.circleround.com/annebio.html) - Anne Hill has produced a book and CD of seasonal pagan songs and activities as well.
