They are so awesome! I love them! I decided I wanted the girls to have quality art stuff...not cheap and nasty that breaks easy and doesn't work well.

Are they the recycled news paper ones? I wanna try them. We have my derwent pencils from when I was a kid still, they had a decade off and now they're back to work again :lol

No they are Steiner ones (imported from Germany?). I love them. My 3 yro takes so much more care of them then the el cheapo ones and I have got rid of all the crap ones from the house. Lyra are thicker for younger hands then Derwent and have more brillian colour - are softer. They are fabulous. I am going to get teh paint too. Adn have the beeswax Stockmar (?) crayons too. I figure if the kids or me are going to draw we should have awesome colour to do it with.

I looooove stockmar crayons. We have a large tine of the blocks and they are fantastic. We take them traveling with a small art diary. The colours are so vibrant and they last forever and they don't snap.

Thanks for the plug, Anaed. :) We have been using the same Lyra and Stockmar art supplies (six children and I) for several years now. They are soooo worth the investment!
