I haven't tried this one yet... but it's essentially 2 x 2L soft drink bottles, attached neck to neck, with a plastic tube going towards the end of each bottle. The instructions say you need...
A plastic sleeve into which one screws two empty 2-liter soda bottles. (I'm wondering if I can rig this up by connecting the 2 lids together)
Inserted into this connecting tube are two clear plastic "straws", one extending toward the bottom of each bottle. Fill one bottle 3/4 full of water, colored if you like, invert the duo, and watch water spew from the top end of the top "straw"
It's all because of the vacuum created as water drains from one bottle to the other, and is a good physics demonstration item. But it looks as though the water defies gravity.

I reckon I could get the 2 lids, drill a hole through the middle, tape them together, and stick a plastic tube through the middle.. we're going to try this and see how it goes!

Hmm the only problem with this is that we would have to buy soft drink .....

So we found this exact attachment at the 'educational' toy shop and have ourselves a water fountain! Pretty cool.. only problem is the only food colouring I had was yellow so it's a urine-coloured water fountain :lol
They also sell "tornado tubes" which make the water swirl on its way from one bottle to the other.. might have to add that to the collection next.

Cool, yeah the tornado tube things are sold at Australian Geographic for under $7 too. Adding glitter along with the food colouring makes it fun too.

Last visit to AG we came home with an original slinky, and one of those birds with weighted wings, than balances by it's beak on anything. Love that shop.

This is similar to the one we bought - ours was also from windmill but it was only about $5.

We bought a connector for this one from windmill as well.
