My DS is really into his craft box lately. He's enjoying making books - usually about spiderman or lego - and is also really into drawing maps and plans. He made a spider and a cat last week which I posted in another thread somewhere.
Just wondering what others' kids are into currently and what you have in your craft supplies.

I just bought J a sticky tape dispenser... so much snipping and taping occurring here lately.

Oh yes sticky tape is endlessly amazing stuff. It's right up there with blutack.

Argh I've not been motivated to facilitate recently. Tres slack. I tried suggesting a bunch of stuff today and she just wanted TV (I can't remember what I eventually struck as a winner). She is loving painting though, I got out my acrylics for her to use as poster paints suck. She painted a really cool dog the other day!

I've been slack too lately, so lots of open ended suff going on with my boy. He looooves sticky tape too! Playschool has some good ideas for quick easy activities so after watching, he sometimes comes to me wanting to make whatever they've just made and I agree because I know we'll have the materials in the recycle box and can whip it up in minutes. We made newspaper hats the other day, they went down a treat.

We went to a space-themed teddy bears picnic on the weekend and K is drawing aliens and robots :) Haven't been doing much craft per se but the little two are enjoying drawing every day.

I'm really pathetic with craft. I never do it! If I put my heart into it we'd be at it all the time! Recently my daughter has been sewing a frog though!

The frog is complete, she's very proud of it, and has been playing with it lots.

K painted some Easter eggs this morning. I've been really overwhelmed by the thought of crafts recently, although we've done some collage last week. And she's always drawing. H has discovered that drawing is fun, too. And he appears to be the only child who knows how to put the lid back on a texta :lol
The other day they were being appalling and I was trying to keep them amused to prevent myself from going completely psycho at them, so I suggested they draw on my feet with textas, and that was a HUGE hit :rofl

K did a mosaic apple yesterday with paper squares and an apple cut-out. She was really meticulous about covering the whole area with rows of squares and spent ages sorting through the jar for all green squares. Looks really good! I reckon it might be time to read up on doing tile mosaics as I have some glass squares tucked away for the purpose.
Craft? What's that? At least that's C's opinion. I just can't get him to do anything crafty. It's not for lack of supplies either - he's just not interested. Construction, however, is something he dives into with his whole heart. He brings me about a dozen different Duplo constructions throughout the day.

Origami origami and more origami for the 5yr old ,mostly boxes with lids. Paper, scissors and sticky tape for the 3 yr old made into phones, computer's, walkie talkies (he calls them - dorkey talkies!). Yesterday both kids made shakers - cut up straws and rice inside sterile specimem jars which I found when cleaning out the kitchen. No idea where the specimen jars came from, think we were supposed to catch DS's wee once yrs ago when he had a fever or something! Oh and toilet paper rolls - always a favourite craft material, they fight over them when a roll finishes.

Space craft happened here today! Rockets - but Survivor's about to start so I'll post pics later... :eager

:lol Echo - sounds similar to our house - Duplo is craft - i've just had to broaden my view of what is craft to now include moonsand and play-doh, which K loves, but he won't do anything traditionally crafty either, never has. I've actually figured out that he finds crafts, particularly in a group setting, very stressful and i think it's the pressure to 'produce' something when he actually has no interest in it....needless to say we avoid those situations these days!
But.....he's suddenly got into drawing in a big way...but only on his terms (as is everything!) - i can't ask him to draw a particular thing, he just suddenly gets inspired and goes off and draws, so i just make sure a pile of paper and the pens are on the table at all times!
